Code of Conduct or Club Officials, Coaches, Players, Volunteers & Parents

General Code

The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarised below. All volunteers involved with Greenbank Raiders club must:

Consider the well-being and safety of participants before the development of performance.

Believe that the purpose of the club is to allow young players to enjoy Rugby League and develop to the best of their personal ability.

Develop an appropriate working relationship with performers, based on mutual trust and respect.

Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.

Make a contribution however small, towards a successful and evolving club.

Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play)

Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance

Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club

I am willing to act as a representative for the club at all times.

Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward

I will do everything I can to support, publicise and develop Greenbank Raiders.

Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibitive substances

Raiders Coaches Code

This code applies specifically to coaches.

I am a Raider coach because:

I want to pass on my skills and knowledge of the game to younger players in my team.

To encourage a sporting attitude in my players.

To achieve this, I must:

Teach my players the BJRL rules appropriate to their age level.

To provide regular, structured training sessions and effective game plans.

Provide positive support on match days and organise cover for my team if I cannot be there.

Create an environment in which young players enjoy learning the skills of rugby.

As a coach, the well being of the players is my responsibility, as defined by BJRL rules.

Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Code of Conduct for parents/carers

I bring my son/daughter to Greenbank Raiders because;

I want him/her to learn the skills of Rugby League.

I want him/her to enjoy playing rugby.

I want him/her to learn how to be part of a team.

want to support the aims of the club

To do this I need to;

Give positive encouragement and support my child at all times.

Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.

Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

Accompany my child to matches/training/social events or arrange supervision by another adult.

Teach him/her to have a sporting attitude to his/her team mates, the opposition and officials.

Give any practical support I can, however small and help them to enjoy their sport.

Publicly accept officials judgments.

Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.

Help him/her to recognise good performance, not just results.

Never force your child to take part in sport.

Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performances of all.

Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

Use correct and proper language at all times.

Players Code

I am a Raider because I want to be:

A skilled rugby player.

A sporting athlete.

A valuable part of the team/club

To achieve this, I must:

Listen and learn

Respect the opposition.

Abide by the officials decisions without question.

Behave with dignity and self-control, even when provoked.

Remember that I must behave maturely and sensibly on the field, during training and at social events, which have been organised for my benefit.

All players must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.

All players must respect opponents.

Players should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.

Players must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.

Players must pay any fees for games promptly. .

 

 

 

 

Raider Supporter Code:

I take part in club activities because:

I want to appreciate young players developing talent.

To do this, I must always:

Encourage players to play by the rules.

Publicly accept officials judgments.

Condemn violence in any form both verbal and physical.

Help players to recognise good performance, not just results.

Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performances of all.

Show appreciation for sporting achievement.

Use correct and proper language at all times.

I must never:

Laugh at a player for making a mistake.

Abuse the official's).

Encourage players to be violent.

Never belittle a player for losing or making mistakes.

Use abusive language.

Greenbank Raiders is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with Club Executives
